“Gabled Modern” - This recently completed whole-house remodel & addition will be photographed in the Summer/Fall of 2020. Until then, we offer this virtual project page.
Stylistically, the exterior is a fusion of both modern and vernacular residential design, referred to commonly as, Gabled Modern. The overall basic form is a common Cape, with multiple gables and steep pitched roofs. The gabled silhouette maintains the basic DNA of Lyon Village, a traditional Post War neighborhood.
With both front and rear yard street access, the house is designed with two primary facades. Contrasting painted and natural Ipe siding define the overall form. Interior planning includes open-plan living, overall versatility and accessibility. Kitchen & family rooms are where families live. Dining rooms can be open alcoves and offices can just as easily become living rooms or short-term guest suites. Anticiapating injury and aging-in-place, all spaces and floors are accessible.
